      Should you cite unpublished internal lab reports in your formal manuscript?

      Paper Discussion

      Internal lab reports contain useful preliminary data but never went through peer review. Some supervisors encourage citing them; other scholars argue they should stay out of public manuscripts. Where do you draw your personal boundary?
